Take One records a performance on the iPhone, separates it into a vocal stem and an instrumental stem, and — with Studio — exports both as WAV. They share a start point, so they sit in sync when you drop them into Logic, Ableton, or Pro Tools.

What this is

The stems are vocal and instrumental. They are not split further into drums, bass, and guitar.

What you can do

  • Capture where you are. Video and audio together. No account, and no upload to process the take.
  • Mix on the phone. Balance, EQ, compression, and effects before the files ever reach a laptop.
  • Leave a master and the stems. Studio exports WAV stems, a mixdown, and a high-quality video.

  1. Record or import the performance.
  2. Separate vocal from instrumental on the device.
  3. Mix what you need to hear before the handoff.
  4. With Studio, export the WAV stems to Files, then AirDrop or copy them onto the session timeline.
