How to remove vocals from a song
Take One splits a recording into a vocal stem and an instrumental stem. Lower the vocal and the instrumental is what you hear: the full band, without the lead voice. The work happens on the iPhone. The recording is not uploaded to be processed.
Steps
- Open Take One. Record the song, or import a video you already have. If it lives only in iCloud, open it in Photos first and let it download before you import.
- Run separation. Keep the app in the foreground while it works. It does not need a network connection.
- Open Mix. Lower or mute the vocal fader. What remains is the instrumental.
- Export the result. A high-quality video, a mixdown, and WAV stems are part of Studio, bought inside the app.
Limit
This removes the vocal. It does not remove drums, bass, or guitar as their own tracks. Those stay together in the instrumental stem.
You are responsible for the rights to any song you import. Separating a commercial release does not grant the right to release the result.
